## Synopsis

The A-Team (1983-1987) is a US action adventure comedy created by Frank Lupo and Stephen J. Cannell for NBC, running five seasons and 94 episodes. George Peppard plays John Hannibal Smith, a silver-tongued former Special Forces colonel who leads a crew of ex-soldiers framed as war criminals for a crime they did not commit. Mr. T plays the fiercely loyal mechanic B.A. Baracus, Dirk Benedict plays the charming con man Templeton Faceman Peck, and Dwight Schultz plays the wild-eyed pilot Howling Mad Murdock. Each episode they take on a hire-for-hire job, a rescue or a showdown with crooked businessmen and gangsters, and then build an elaborate, gadget-driven plan that ends in spectacular vehicle chases and explosions with remarkably little real bloodshed. The engine is the constant dodge of Army pursuit combined with a wish to clear their names. Set in 1980s America, the series is a breezy, farcical, nostalgic romp, all sweeping crowd-pleasing wit and cheerful mayhem. Fans of Knight Rider, Mission: Impossible and The Fugitive will find resonance in its blend of outlaw heroes and playful capers.
