## Synopsis

Dear Hongrang (2025) is a South Korean historical romance and mystery series created by Kim Hong-sun and Kim Jin-a for Netflix, adapted from a novel. Lee Jae-wook plays Sim Hongrang, a long-missing heir who returns to his family with lost memories, and Cho Bo-ah plays Sim Jae-yi, a family member whose feelings and doubts pull against each other. Jung Ga-ram plays Sim Mu-jin and Uhm Ji-won plays Min Yeon-ui, whose suspicions and loyalties shape the household. The engine of the story is a question that will not stay settled: is the man truly Hongrang, or a stranger disturbing hearts and family ties? Each episode builds tension through glances, half-remembered details, and quiet confrontations inside the palace-adjacent family compound. The series runs for a single eleven-episode season of roughly an hour each. Set in Joseon-dynasty Korea, it is a k-drama with an unhurried, melancholic romance wrapped around a mystery of identity. Its tone is wistful and intimate, with a slow burn that rewards viewers who enjoy period drama and emotional uncertainty. Fans of Mr. Sunshine, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and The Forbidden Marriage will find resonance in its court atmosphere and romance tangled with suspicion.
