## Synopsis

Black Doves (2024) is a British spy thriller series created by Joe Barton for Netflix. Keira Knightley plays Helen Webb, a spy posing as a politician's wife, whose lover's murder sends her on a quest for truth and vengeance. She is joined by an old assassin friend, Sam Young, played by Ben Whishaw, and the cast includes Sarah Lancashire as Mrs. Reed, Andrew Buchan as Wallace, and Andrew Koji as Jason. Its single season of six episodes, set in contemporary London over the festive season, follows Helen as she moves between Westminster drawing rooms and dangerous backstreets, weighing loyalty against lethal ambition. Each episode pushes the investigation forward with brisk action and sharp political maneuvering, while the cozy holiday backdrop sits uneasily against brutal violence. The mood is tense, glossy, and propulsive, with a dark wit running beneath the danger. Fans of Killing Eve, Spooks and Hanna will find resonance in its female-led espionage, shadowy intrigue and stylish brutality.
