## Synopsis

The Leopard (2025) is an Italian and British historical drama miniseries created by Richard Warlow for Netflix. Set in 1860s Sicily during the unification of Italy, it follows Don Fabrizio Corbera (Kim Rossi Stuart), a proud Sicilian prince whose ancient family privilege is threatened by the revolutionary changes sweeping the island. Around him, his daughter Concetta (Benedetta Porcaroli) and his nephew Tancredi Falconeri (Saul Nanni) navigate shifting loyalties, marriage ambitions and political opportunism as old certainties dissolve. The engine of the story is the prince's struggle to preserve his household and dignity while the new order advances. Told in a single six-episode season, it is a prestige period drama built on candlelit interiors, formal dinners, and quiet family rivalries. Its tone is melancholic, measured and elegant, with a steady undercurrent of loss. Viewers who enjoy Downton Abbey and Taboo will find similar resonance in its portrait of an aristocracy losing ground to history.
