## Synopsis

Down with the Beautiful (2007-2009) is a Mexican telenovela created by Enrique Torres for Las Estrellas, a remake of the Argentinian telenovela Muñeca Brava. Allisson Lozz plays Milagros Belmonte Ramos de Miranda, an orphan whose life is turned upside down by her relationship with the wealthy Eugenio Siller as Alejandro Miranda Arango. César Évora Díaz as Constancio Belmonte Lascuráin and Laura Flores as Luciana Arango anchor the opposing family, while Altaír Jarabo and Alicia Rodríguez add further family entanglements. The engine of the series is a steady stream of class barriers, family rivalries, and secrets that keep the lovers apart and force hard choices among households with money and those without. Told across a single long run of 176 episodes in the classic telenovela format, it moves at the pace of daily drama, with each chapter built around confrontation, misunderstanding, and reconciliation. Set in contemporary Mexico among wealthy families and humble neighborhoods, it delivers melodrama with a warm, emotional register and a strong sense of romance and family loyalty. Fans of Muñeca Brava, Betty la fea, and Rubí will find resonance in its blend of heartfelt romance, social contrast, and sweeping domestic intrigue.
