## Synopsis

The Eternaut (2025-present) is an Argentine science fiction series created by Bruno Stagnaro for Netflix. Ricardo Darín plays Juan Salvo, an ordinary man in Buenos Aires who, after a devastating toxic snowfall has killed millions, must hold together a small band of survivors against an invisible threat from another world. Carla Peterson plays Elena, a fellow survivor whose resolve is tested as the group scrambles for shelter, food and information while the city falls apart around them. César Troncoso adds weight as Alfredo Favalli, an older voice of experience among the survivors. Across six episodes of roughly fifty-six minutes each, the series is built on tense, practical episodes in which the group must navigate a ruined city, weigh trust against desperation, and keep moving through a threat no one can clearly see. The tone is bleak and claustrophobic, with an undercurrent of human warmth and loyalty that keeps the characters grounded. Adapted from the iconic Argentine comic by Héctor Germán Oesterheld, the series is set in the present day of its broadcast, and it has the austere, character-driven feel of a Buenos Aires apocalypse story. Fans of The Walking Dead and The Leftovers will find resonance in its mix of survival tension and grief-tinged human honesty, and it suits viewers who want a serious, adult take on alien invasion.
