## Synopsis

Light Shop (2024) is a South Korean miniseries created by Kang Full and Kim Hee-won and distributed on Disney+. Across eight episodes, the story is set in a mysterious shop that sells lamps, a place where the dead may briefly return to the world of the living and where the living may never walk back out. The cast includes Ju Ji-hoon as Jung Won-young, Park Bo-young as Kwon Young-ji, Um Tae-goo as Kim Hyun-min, and Kim Seol-hyun as Lee Ji-young, all drawn into the shop's uncanny orbit. Rather than a single linear plot, the series unfolds as a set of individual stories that weave together, jumping between characters and moments in a non-linear way. Each thread carries its own fear and grief, tied to the contrast between dark, frightening spaces and the warmth of light. The tone is eerie, melancholic and atmospheric, with a mystery that unsettles as much as it consoles. Viewers who enjoy the afterlife dramas of Hotel Del Luna and the bleak moral puzzles of Hellbound will find a similar resonance here, along with the unsettling vignette craft of Black Mirror. Its cast, its webtoon origins and its Korean production give it a distinctive, moody identity.
