## Synopsis

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace (2023-2025) is an American true crime docuseries created for Investigation Discovery and produced by Hot Snakes Media. Across three seasons and sixteen episodes, it examines whether Natalia Barnett, a Ukrainian girl with dwarfism adopted into an Indiana household, is an exploited child or a dangerous adult pretending to be a child. The series is built on candid interviews with Natalia herself, her adoptive mother Kristine Barnett, relatives and neighbors, and legal voices including legal expert Beth Karas, alongside investigators such as Indiana State Police detective Brandon Davenport and retired FBI special agent Veronica Maxwell. Its engine is the competing accounts of a family in conflict and the evidence that each side brings to the courtroom, with Michael Barnett's October 2022 trial anchoring the story and new theories and evidence surfacing along the way. Each episode layers testimony over case files, creating a tense, unsettled atmosphere where every new witness shifts the balance of belief. The tone is sober and investigative, with a mounting sense of unease about power inside a family home. Fans of The Jinx, Making a Murderer and The Staircase will find the same appetite for contested truth, unreliable domestic narratives and courtroom scrutiny that refuses an easy verdict.
