## Synopsis

Siren: Survive the Island (2023) is a South Korean reality survival competition series created by Lee Eun-kyung and Chae Jin-ah and produced by Studio MODAK for Netflix. Twenty-four women drawn from policing, firefighting, the army, bodyguard work, athletics and stunt performance are split into teams that are stranded on a remote island for seven days. Rather than scrambling for food, water or money, the contestants compete through sneaking, strategy and flag stealing, with each team trying to outmaneuver the others while staying in the game. The show is a single season of ten roughly forty-minute episodes, presented as an unscripted format rather than a drama. Its tone is light and competitive, with a playful edge that leans on the contestants' professional pride and camaraderie. Viewers who enjoy Survivor, Alone or the team-based challenges of Korean variety programming will find a familiar structure here, though the lack of material stakes makes it a looser, more game-like experience than its premise suggests.
