## Synopsis

Butterfly (2025) is an American spy thriller series created by Steph Cha and Ken Woodruff for Prime Video, a single-season run of six hour-long episodes that was canceled after its only season. Daniel Dae Kim plays David Jung, a former US intelligence operative living in hiding in South Korea whose quiet life is shattered when an impossible decision from his past returns to haunt him. Reina Hardesty plays Rebecca Jung, a deadly young assassin sent to hunt him, and Piper Perabo plays Juno Lund, a figure tied to the covert world that shapes the chase. The engine of the story is David's attempt to escape the consequences of his history while Caddis, a sinister spy organization, closes in with trained killers and shifting loyalties. Each episode moves through tense escapes, choreographed fight sequences and tangled politicking in Seoul. Set in the present day, the series sits in the tradition of American action television, with a bruising, formula-driven pace and a tone that mixes paranoia with brisk physical danger. Fans of The Night Manager, Killing Eve and Alias will find a familiar kinship in its hunted-agent premise and its clandestine international intrigue, though the series leans more on action set pieces than on character depth.
