## Synopsis

Wonderful World (2024) is a South Korean melodrama thriller miniseries created by Kim Eun-ji for MBC. Over fourteen episodes of roughly seventy minutes each, a mother whose young son was killed watches the perpetrator walk free after the law has forgiven him. Her quest for revenge becomes the engine of the story, moving through careful planning, suspicion and emotional confrontation, and the series keeps returning to what her vengeance costs her and those around her. Eun Soo-hyeon is played by Kim Nam-ju, with Cha Eun-woo as Kwon Seon-yul and Kim Kang-woo as Kang Su-ho among the principal cast, and Yang Hye-ji and Im Se-mi filling out the orbit around them. The series is a single continuous story rather than a case of the week, and it is set in contemporary South Korea. Its tone is heavy and tearful, foregrounding grief, suspense and the slow, uneasy work of healing. Viewers who enjoy the vengeful intensity of Lady Vengeance and the soapy twists of The Penthouse will find resonance here, though the series leans more openly into sentiment than either.
