## Synopsis

Pyramid Game (2024) is a South Korean miniseries created by Park So Yeon for TVING, a tvN-style korean teen drama about cruelty inside a girls' school. Every last Thursday of the month, the students of Class 2-5 at an all-girls high school vote in a popularity poll that sorts them into Grades A, B, C, D and F, and anyone graded F becomes a legitimate target of school violence. The principal characters are Seong Su-ji (Bona), Baek Ha-rin (Jang Da-ah), Myung Ja-eun (Ryu Da-in) and Im Ye-rim (Kang Na-eon), whose friendships and loyalties are tested as the ranking reshapes their daily lives. The engine of the series is the pressure to climb the hierarchy and escape the bottom grade while the cruelty around them grows more organized. Told across ten episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, it is a single continuous story rather than a case-of-the-week format, moving through classroom votes, whispered alliances and escalating confrontations. Set in a contemporary South Korean school, the drama builds a tense, claustrophobic atmosphere of dread, with melancholic friendship and harrowing psychological pressure at its core. Fans of Blood and Water, Squid Game and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its portrait of teen social cruelty.
