## Synopsis

Until I Kill You (2024) is a British four-episode crime miniseries created by Nick Stevens for ITV1, a dramatization of a real survivor's ordeal. Anna Maxwell Martin plays Delia Balmer, a nurse who survives a near-fatal relationship with Shaun Evans as John Sweeney, a man later revealed as a murderer. The engine of the story is Delia's struggle to be believed and to hold him to account, as she moves through police interviews, statements, and the slow machinery of the criminal justice system while police and prosecutors try to build a case against him. Each episode turns on a new obstacle, from doubting officers to the hard work of assembling evidence and facing the courtroom. Its shape is a single contained arc rather than a case of the week, and it leans into the claustrophobic texture of a relationship that looked ordinary from the outside. Set in contemporary England and the Netherlands, it is grounded and unflinching, with a tense, sober tone and a focus on trauma, endurance, and institutional failure. Fans of Unbelievable, I May Destroy You, and Making a Murderer will find resonance in its survivor-centered, true-events approach to domestic abuse and the legal process that follows it.
