## Synopsis

When I Fly Towards You (2023) is a Chinese youth romance series adapted from a novel, created by Zhu Yi and produced for Youku. Sixteen-year-old Su Zaizai (Zhang Miaoyi) is swept into a helpless crush after a sweet chance encounter with Zhang Lurang (Zhou Yiran), a classmate who is smart, charming and yet emotionally distant. Around them, friends and rivals such as Jiang Jia (Jiang Zhinan), Gu Ran (Bian Tianyang) and Guan Fang (Guo Zhe) fill the school days with shared jokes, small rivalries and quiet loyalties. The engine of the story is the slow, awkward push and pull between a girl who wears her feelings openly and a boy who keeps his guarded, so each episode is built from classroom moments, friendship squabbles, and tentative gestures toward closeness. Told in a single season of twenty-four episodes, the series unfolds as one continuing school story, with the tone staying warm, wistful and heartfelt. The campus setting is contemporary China, with the atmosphere of ordinary youth carrying the weight of first love. Viewers who enjoy Heartstopper or the sweet school romances of Blue Spring will find the same tender ache of growing up here.
