## Synopsis

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces (2023) is a Japanese animated slice of life romance series created for television and broadcast on Gunma TV, TOKYO MX, BS11 and Tochigi TV, produced by CloverWorks. Adapted from popular side stories left out of the main anime, it follows Kyouko Hori (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) and her boyfriend Izumi Miyamura (voiced by Koki Uchiyama) as their circle of friends gathers around a Katagiri High School graduation ceremony and begins to look back on their years as students. Principal friends Toru Ishikawa (voiced by Seiichiro Yamashita), Yuki Yoshikawa (voiced by Yurie Kozakai) and Kakeru Sengoku (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto) appear across the episodes. Rather than a driving plot, the thirteen episodes are self-contained vignettes built from everyday school moments, crushes, friendships and small misunderstandings, each one a colorful piece of shared memory. The engine is affection and nostalgia: the characters' ordinary days carry weight because they are ending. The tone is warm, wistful and gently comic, with a cozy, breezy feel. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school, it is a single season of thirteen 24-minute episodes that suits fans of Horimiya, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Lucky Star looking for a comforting romcom.
