## Synopsis

Genie, Make a Wish (2025) is a Korean fantasy romantic comedy created by Lee Byeong-heon and Kim Eun-sook for Netflix. Kim Woo-bin plays Genie, a quirky immortal who returns after a thousand years to grant wishes, and Suzy plays Ki Ga-young, a woman born without feelings who is the reluctant recipient of his magic. Ahn Eun-jin plays Lee Mi-joo, and Steve Sanghyun Noh plays Ryu Su-hyeon, a figure whose connections deepen the central romance. The engine of the series is a standing contract of wishes: each one Ga-young makes pulls the genie further into the modern world and pushes her toward the emotional life she has been missing. Episodes mix playful wish-granting mishaps with sincere moments of romantic awakening, and the thirteen-episode season moves as one continuing story rather than a case of the week. Set in present-day Seoul, the show is a Netflix-backed production that follows the tradition of the k-drama romcom. Its tone is whimsical and warm, with a lighter, cheerful surface over a thoughtful interest in human nature. Fans of Goblin and My Love from the Star will find resonance in its blend of supernatural romance, comic timing and emotional redemption.
