## Synopsis

Oderbruch (2024-present) is a German crime and supernatural thriller series created by Adolfo J. Kolmerer, Arend Remmers and Christian Alvart for Das Erste. Detective Roland Voit (Felix Kramer) returns to his hometown in the Oderbruch region after numerous murder victims are discovered, and is paired with Polish police officer Stanislaw Zajak (Lucas Gregorowicz). His former colleague and childhood sweetheart Magdalena Kring (Karoline Schuch) is drawn into the investigation when her family comes under suspicion. The engine of the series is a methodical manhunt that keeps turning back toward the past, as Voit and Magdalena dig into their own history and the unexplained death of her brother. Each episode works through interviews, forensic leads and tense family confrontations in a cold rural landscape near the German-Polish border. The story begins as conventional police work and gradually bends into surreal, otherworldly territory, giving it an unsettling, dread-filled atmosphere. Viewers who enjoy the slow-burn mysteries of Dark and the eerie small-town unease of Twin Peaks will find resonance here. The series is currently running across two seasons, and its tone blends procedural grit with uncanny unease.
