## Synopsis

Wyrd Sisters (1997) is a British animated fantasy comedy miniseries created by Terry Pratchett for Channel 4. Produced by Cosgrove Hall Films, this six-episode adaptation of Pratchett's Discworld novel follows three witches, the flowery Magrat Garlick, the lively Nanny Ogg and their formidable leader Granny Weatherwax, who are reluctantly drawn into protecting an infant prince after Duke Felmet murders King Verence and seizes the small kingdom of Lancre. Voiced by Annette Crosbie as Granny Weatherwax, June Whitfield as Nanny Ogg and Jane Horrocks as Magrat, with Christopher Lee lending his voice to Death, the story turns on the witches' scheming and their uneasy partnership with a traveling player. Each episode moves briskly through court intrigue, prophecy, stagecraft and sly parody of fantasy conventions, all delivered in a witty, warm and irreverent register. The tone balances affectionate satire with genuine stakes, and the setting is a feudal kingdom of castles, forests and royal ambition rendered with a storybook charm. Fans of Discworld, Adventure Time and Blackadder will find resonance in its sardonic humor and its earthy, grounded witchcraft.
