## Synopsis

Captain Fall (2023) is an American adult animated comedy series created by Jon Iver Helgaker, Jonas Torgersen and Joel Trussell for Netflix. Its goofy, gullible sea captain Jonathan Fall, voiced by Jason Ritter, is hired to helm a high-end cruise ship and quickly becomes the perfect fall guy for an illicit smuggling operation. Christopher Meloni voices Agent Steel, and Anthony Carrigan voices Mr. Tyrant, with Adam Devine voicing Tanner among the ship's wider cast. The engine of each episode is the gap between Fall's cheerful obliviousness and the criminals and officials circling him, so every mishap compounds into a bigger tangle of schemes. The series is a single season of ten episode installments in a brisk twenty-seven minute format, with a continuing storyline rather than standalone cases. Its setting is a modern luxury cruise liner at sea, and the mood is irreverent, sardonic and absurd, with crude humor that reviewers find more purposeful than random. Viewers who enjoy Rick and Morty and Bob's Burgers will find a similar appetite for adult animated mayhem, while fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will recognize its workplace comedy rhythms. The show was canceled after its first season, so the story stops mid-arc.
