## Synopsis

El Clon (2010) is a Brazilian, Colombian and American co-produced telenovela created by Hugo León Ferrer for Telemundo. Mauricio Ochmann plays Lucas Ferrer, who falls for Sandra Echeverría's Jade Mebarak, a young Arab woman pulled between modern values and her Islamic upbringing. Their romance is torn apart, and two decades later a strange twist of luck brings them back together, only for Jade to meet a clone of Lucas who is twenty years younger. Her dilemma, choosing between the man she loved and the memory she cherishes, drives this single-season, 183-episode serial, told in the familiar telenovela rhythm of long-running family intrigue and romantic longing. Luz Stella Luengas and Lucy Martínez add weight as family matriarchs, and Juan Pablo Raba appears among the principal cast. The tone is melodramatic and sentimental, with an emotional register built on devotion, cultural tension and nostalgia for lost love. Fans of Veronica, Rebelde and Cuando seas mía will find resonance in its telenovela melodrama and forbidden romance.
