## Synopsis

Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF (2024) is a Japanese anime fantasy romance series based on a light novel and produced by Passione, ENISHIYA and KADOKAWA for TV Tokyo, TV Aichi and TV Osaka. Its single season of 25 episodes follows Kraft Lawrence (voiced by Jun Fukuyama), an itinerant merchant who travels by horse-drawn cart selling wares through a medieval-style land. He meets Holo (voiced by Ami Koshimizu), a wisewolf with animal ears and a tail, who brings bountiful harvests and wants to return to her homeland in the north. The engine of the series is their shared journey: each episode is built around a trade, a bargain, or a negotiation in a village or town, where Lawrence's shrewd dealings meet Holo's sharp wit and folkloric power. Supporting voices such as Tomokazu Sugita as Yarei and Daisuke Namikawa as Zheren add episodic colour. The tone is wistful and gently witty, with a slow, measured romance that grows from two lonely travelers keeping each other company on the road. Fans of Kino's Journey, Mushishi and Log Horizon will find resonance in its episodic travel, its mercantile cleverness and its quiet, character-driven warmth.
