## Synopsis

Evilive (2023) is a South Korean crime drama created by Kim Jeong-min and broadcast on ENA. Shin Ha-kyun plays Han Dong-soo, a hardworking lawyer who randomly selects prisoners to visit so he can help them find jobs, and Shin Jae-ha plays Han Beom-jae, his brother, a former baseball player who has risen to become second in command of a criminal organization. Kim Young-kwang, Song Young-chang, and Ju Jin-mo round out the principal cast. The engine of the series is the slow pull on Dong-soo: every prison visit and every reconnection with his brother tests whether he can resist the temptations of a world built on money, violence, and loyalty. Each of its ten hour-long episodes moves the criminal plot forward through negotiations, betrayals, and uneasy alliances in Seoul's underworld. The tone is tense and morally heavy, with a grounded, gritty texture and a focus on the cost of compromise. Fans of Breaking Bad and Korean crime thrillers such as Taxi Driver will find resonance in its portrait of a good man slowly sliding toward corruption.
