## Synopsis

The Cage (2024) is a French mixed martial arts drama series created by Franck Gastambide and Sylvain Caron for Netflix. Following a young fighter named Taylor (Melvin Boomer) who struggles to be noticed in the combat scene, the story turns when an unexpected face-off earns him a chance at professional competition. Alongside him, principal figures include the ruthless promoter known as Boss (Franck Gastambide), Elena (Edwige Ahonto), and his training companion Niko (Antoine Simony). Taylor's engine is simple and driven: he wants recognition and a real career, while the sport's brutal politics, dangerous rivals and personal debts stand between him and the top. The five-episode first season is a compact, single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, with each episode building toward the next bout. Its tone is tense, gritty and propulsive, with a raw street-level atmosphere and emotionally charged fight sequences. Fans of Cobra Kai, Warrior and Kickboxer will find resonance in its portrait of ambition, rivalry and the hard price of getting seen. Mature in violence and language, it is aimed at adult viewers who enjoy combat sports.
