## Synopsis

A Sign of Affection (2024) is a Japanese shoujo romance anime series, a single-season adaptation of a manga, broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV. Its twelve episodes follow college student Yuki Itose (voiced by Sumire Morohoshi), who is overwhelmed by the pressures of university life until an upperclassman named Itsuomi Nagi (voiced by Yu Miyazaki) helps her out on a crowded train. As he gradually introduces her to sign languages and to a wider community, Yuki's feelings for him slowly take shape. The engine of the series is quiet, everyday discovery: small campus moments, new friendships, and the slow work of learning to communicate across differences. Each episode is a gentle slice of life rather than a plot-driven story, unfolding as a single continuing thread of growing affection. Set in contemporary Japan, the show has a warm, tender, and hopeful atmosphere, with an emphasis on sincerity and emotional patience. Fans of Horimiya, A Silent Voice and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War will find resonance in its blend of youthful romance and sensitive character drama. The series suits viewers who want a soft, heartfelt romance with a fresh perspective on connection.
