## Synopsis

Breathless (Respira) (2024-2025) is a Spanish medical drama series created by Carlos Montero for Netflix. Set in a bustling public hospital, it follows a passionate medical team devoted to saving lives, with the emotional engine built on the tensions and romance that run through their shifts. Principal characters include Biel de Felipe, played by Manu Ríos, and Néstor Moa, played by Borja Luna, whose connection anchors much of the drama, alongside Jésica Donoso played by Blanca Suárez and Patricia Segura played by Najwa Nimri. The series runs for two seasons of eight episodes each, with each episode unfolding a mix of urgent cases and staff conflicts. The second season builds on the first with more confident pacing and sharper emotional stakes. Labor tensions and the pressures of an underfunded public health system give the drama its grounded edge. The tone is intense and sensual, with moments of warmth and humor between colleagues. Fans of Grey's Anatomy and ER will find resonance here, along with the Spanish hospital drama Hospital Central.
