## Synopsis

The Other Side (2023-present) is a Spanish dark comedy series created by Berto Romero for Movistar Plus. Berto Romero plays Nacho Nieto, a journalist specialising in paranormal activity who is at a professional and personal low after a failed suicide attempt. He comes back to life accompanied by the ghost of his mentor, Doctor Estrada, played by Andreu Buenafuente, an iconic communicator of mystery who died more than twenty years ago. Principal supporting roles include Eva Ugarte as Juana and María Botto as Eva, with Nacho Vigalondo as Gorka Romero. The engine of the show is the odd partnership between a disillusioned reporter and a ghost who knows the stakes of the afterlife, as they chase paranormal stories and confront the tangle of their own unfinished lives. Each thirty-minute episode mixes case-driven investigation with deadpan banter and wistful melancholy. The series runs two seasons across twelve episodes and is a television-first production with a distinctly Spanish comic sensibility. Its tone blends darkly ironic humour, eerie mystery and quiet grief. Fans of Ghosts, Ghosted and The X-Files will find resonance in its mix of supernatural mystery, comedy and emotional weight, set in contemporary Spain.
