## Synopsis

XHDRBZ (2002) is a Mexican sketch comedy series created by Gustavo Rodríguez and Eugenio Derbez for Las Estrellas, a Televisa production that spoofs a television channel. Its single 51-episode season stacks short sketches back to back, each one closing with mock end credits as if the channel were signing off between programs. Derbez anchors the show alongside Consuelo Duval, Sammy Pérez and Miguel Luis, playing couples, neurotic parents and clumsy friends whose everyday frustrations spiral into awkward, escalating scenes. The engine is simple: ordinary characters chase small desires, such as a quiet marriage, a peaceful household or a little respect, and each sketch sends that wish off a cliff. Recurring themes include dysfunctional marriage, parent child tension, insecurity and friendship. The tone is irreverent and deadpan, with dark comedy edges and a breezy pace that rewards short viewing sessions. Fans of Chespirito, Ya Basta! and Mad TV will find resonance in its rapid-fire format and sharp social awkwardness, all wrapped in a distinctly Mexican sensibility.
