## Synopsis

Dragon Tales (1999-2005) is an American animated children's fantasy series created by Jim Coane and Ron Rodecker for PBS Kids, produced in the Sesame Workshop tradition of gentle educational programming. Siblings Max and Emmy (voiced by Danny McKinnon and Andrea Libman) discover an enchanted dragon scale that carries them to a whimsical fantasy land whenever they recite a rhyme. There they befriend a group of colorful anthropomorphic dragons, Cassie (Chantal Strand), Ord (Ty Olsson), Zak (Jason Michas), Wheezie (Kathleen Barr) and Quetzal (Eli Gabay), who help them with everyday problems. Each episode builds around a small challenge that the children solve through cooperation, curiosity and kindness, giving the show a cozy, hopeful register. Its three seasons and 187 episodes form a sequence of self-contained adventures rather than one continuing plot. The series is set in an invented fantasy world, with a light, playful atmosphere that will appeal to young viewers. Fans of Wallykazam!, Bubble Guppies and Zoboomafoo will find similar warmth and gentle learning in its friendly, imaginative world.
