## Synopsis

Postman Pat (1981-2006) is a British children's animated series created by John Cunliffe and Ivor Wood. Its title character, a kindly village postman, makes his rounds through the rural community of Greendale with his black-and-white cat Jess, voiced by Ken Barrie as Pat in the main cast. Each short episode follows a simple task that calls for care and neighbourly help, such as delivering a parcel, fixing a small problem, or helping a townsperson with an everyday chore. The engine is gentle and routine: Pat's round gives every episode its shape, and the stakes stay small and warm. The series runs across five seasons and a run of 106 fifteen-minute episodes, told as a series of self-contained stories rather than one continuing arc. The setting is a quiet, timeless English countryside village, with cottages, fields, and a close-knit cast of neighbours. The tone is soothing, cheerful, and comforting, with a strong sense of community and reliability. Fans of Bob the Builder and Bluey will find resonance in its cozy, child-friendly, village-based warmth.
