## Synopsis

Now and Again (1999-2000) is an American science fiction action series created by Glenn Gordon Caron for CBS. Eric Close plays Michael Wiseman, an insurance salesman and family man who is killed in a subway accident and then revived when the government preserves his brain inside a young, genetically engineered body with superhuman abilities. Dennis Haysbert plays Dr. Theodore Morris, the strict but brilliant mentor who directs Michael's missions, while Margaret Colin and Heather Matarazzo play Lisa and Heather, the wife and daughter who must never learn the truth. The engine of the show is the tension between secret duty and family love: each episode sends Michael against terrorists, corrupt agents, killer bugs and the dangerous international criminal known as the Egg Man, while he struggles to stay near the people he left behind. The single season of twenty-two episodes is a light, episodic adventure with a warm domestic core and a playful, slightly wistful tone. Fans of The Six Million Dollar Man, Alias and Bionic Woman will find resonance in its blend of spy action, high-concept science fiction and family melancholy. The show was canceled and its story left unfinished.
