## Synopsis

Walking on Thin Ice (2025) is a South Korean crime thriller series broadcast on KBS2. Lee Young-ae stars as Kang Eun-soo, a housewife whose husband is terminally ill and whose mounting medical bills push her to the edge. Her life tangles with a mysterious teacher, Yi-kyeong, played by Kim Young-kwang, after a bag of drugs falls into her orbit. Veteran detective Jang Tae-gu, played by Park Yong-woo, sets out to chase them both, and the pursuit drives each episode forward. The series unfolds across a single twelve-episode season in a contemporary Korean setting, with the everyday pressures of family life and debt feeding the suspense. Its engine is simple and concrete: a woman needs money, a stranger offers a way out that is also a trap, and a detective is closing in. Tone runs tense and paranoid, with moments of quiet domestic anguish. Fans of Breaking Bad, Bloodline and Kingdom will find resonance in its morally compromised characters and relentless pursuit. The show rewards viewers who enjoy suspense built on desperation rather than spectacle.
