## Synopsis

Men of a Certain Age (2009-2011) is an American dramedy created by Mike Royce and Ray Romano for TNT. Ray Romano plays Joe Tranelli, a car dealership owner whose business and marriage are both under strain, alongside Scott Bakula as Terry Elliott, a friend wrestling with the aftermath of his own setbacks, and Andre Braugher as Owen Thoreau Jr., a man caught between his demanding father and his own family. The engine of the show is the everyday pressure of midlife: money worries, a gambling habit, sagging marriages and the awkward question of what a man still owes his ambitions. Across two seasons and twenty-two hour-long episodes, the stories stay grounded in ordinary routines, from showroom floors and kitchen tables to bars where the three friends talk through their failures. Its tone is wry and melancholic, mixing sharp humor with quiet sadness rather than broad farce. Fans of Thirtysomething and Parenthood will find resonance in its focus on adult relationships, family obligation and the slow erosion of middle-class certainties. The series was canceled on TNT and leaves its central questions open.
