## Synopsis

Between Lands (2023-present) is a Spanish period drama series created for Atresplayer, produced by Atresmedia and Boomerang TV. Its central figure, María Fernández (Megan Montaner), is a selfless woman who agrees to an arranged marriage with the wealthy Manuel Cervantes (Unax Ugalde) in order to protect her sister and rescue her family from financial ruin. Around the couple orbit Ramón Cervantes (Juanjo Puigcorbé), Justa Martínez (Begoña Maestre), and Gabriel Expósito (Llorenç González), whose loyalties and desires complicate every household arrangement. The engine of the series is the gap between duty and desire: each episode tightens the pressure on María as she tries to keep her family afloat while the husband she has been bound to hides dark secrets beneath a polished surface. Told as a continuing serialized story across two seasons of ten hour-long episodes each, the series builds its romance and suspense around a love triangle and the slow exposure of what lies behind closed doors. Set in 1960s Spain, it presents a society where reputation, class, and family honor dictate personal choices. The tone is melodramatic and intimate, with moments of dread and longing carried by its period settings and performances. Viewers who enjoy the social drama of Gran Hotel and the household intrigue of Downton Abbey will find a similar pull in its emotional stakes and class tensions.
