## Synopsis

Nitro Circus (2009) is an American action sports reality series created by Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine for MTV2. Travis Pastrana leads an action sport collective of friends, including Andy Bell, Jolene Van Vugt, Greg Powell, Jim DeChamp, Erik Roner and Tommy Passemante, who travel from place to place riding dirtbikes, base jumping and attempting outrageous stunts. Rather than a scripted plot, the engine of the series is the stunts themselves: each episode is built from a planned trick, the logistics of getting it done, and the crew egging one another on as the risks mount. The show runs for two seasons and twenty-one half-hour episodes, a compact spin on the tour that spawned it. Its tone is rowdy, playful and adrenaline-fueled, with a brotherhood energy that keeps the mood light even when the falls look painful. Viewers of extreme sports programming, fans of the daredevil antics in Jackass and the stunt-driven spirit of Rad will find familiar ground. Set in the present-day world of the tour, it is a showcase of spectacle, friendship and fearless travel, rather than a story with a finale.
