## Synopsis

Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital (2004) is a United States supernatural horror mystery series created by Lars von Trier and Stephen King for ABC. Set in a small-town Maine hospital, the story follows a population of eccentric staff and patients, including a brilliant surgeon who lives in the basement, a nearly blind security guard and a nurse who faints at the sight of blood. Dr. Christine Draper (Allison Hossack) and Dr. Stegman (Bruce Davison) are among the principal characters, alongside Dr. Hook (Andrew McCarthy) and Peter Rickman (Jack Coleman). The engine of the series is the gap between skeptical staff who dismiss supernatural signs and a growing pile of uncanny events: a girl's crying voice echoing through the halls and a patient's miraculous recovery. The single season of thirteen episodes builds a mystery in which every episode adds an unsettling clue. Its tone mixes eerie dread with dark comedy and quirky ensemble moments. Fans of Twin Peaks, The Haunting of Hill House and Hemlock Grove will find resonance in its small-town unease and blend of medical drama and ghostly horror.
