## Synopsis

Tore (2023) is a Swedish dramedy miniseries created by William Spetz for Netflix. Spetz also stars as Tore, an immature, aimless 27-year-old whose closest companion has died, and he throws himself into a world of casual sex, drugs and restless nightlife in search of some version of himself. Peter Haber plays Bosse, Sanna Sundqvist plays Linn, and Hannes Fohlin plays Erik, each drawn into Tore's orbit as the reckless episodes unfold across a single six-episode season of roughly half-hour installments. The engine of the show is less a plot than a bruised, restless search: each episode is built around a new encounter, a new party or a new bad decision, and the comedy comes from how little Tore understands about what he is doing to himself and the people around him. The tone is frank, awkward and tender by turns, carrying a melancholy undercurrent beneath its sexual candor and its jokes. Set in contemporary Sweden, the series is a grounded, unglamorous portrait of queer urban life. Viewers who enjoy Looking, Please Like Me and Girls will find a kindred sense of messy, self-aware young adulthood.
