## Synopsis

Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye (2002-2005) is a Canadian and American family-friendly crime drama series created by Dave Alan Johnson and Gary R. Johnson, aired on CTV and Pax TV. Based on a true story, it follows Sue Thomas (Deanne Bray), a hard-headed, soft-hearted young woman who is hearing impaired and joins the FBI in Washington, D.C. Her talent for reading lips lets her catch words through places where listening devices cannot reach, and she works alongside her hearing-ear dog Levi. Her principal colleagues include agent Jack Hudson (Yannick Bisson), and the supporting cast fills out a federal investigative team. The engine of the show is simple and vivid: each case pits Sue's sharp perception and willingness to take risks against notorious criminals, and each episode builds around a fresh investigation. Spanning three seasons of nineteen episodes apiece, the series is a case-of-the-week procedural rather than a serialized arc. The tone is earnest, warm and inspiring, with suspense delivered in a gentle, edge-of-your-seat register suited to all ages. Its themes of perseverance and human spirit make it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy clever procedurals in the vein of The Mentalist and Numb3rs.
