## Synopsis

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (2024-present) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy series produced by Doga Kobo and broadcast on TOKYO MX, adapted from a light novel. Transfer student Alya, a poised, high-achieving beauty with a cold shoulder, keeps ignoring her nerdy classmate Kuze Masachika, voiced by Kohei Amasaki, except when she slips a flirtatious line to him in Russian. The engine of the show is simple and sweet: Masachika pretends not to understand, Alya is baffled by her own blurted affection, and each episode is built from small school-life mishaps, awkward encounters and escalating misunderstandings. Supporting characters voiced by Wakana Maruoka as Yuki Suō and Yukiyo Fujii as Maria Kujō add warmth and comic tangents across the school. The series unfolds across two seasons so far, mostly episodic in feel but following a gradually developing romance. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school, it has a bright, cozy, playful register with a bittersweet undertow of teenage longing. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, My Dress-Up Darling and Horimiya will find similar resonance in its hidden-affection banter and the pleasure of watching two guarded teenagers slowly reveal themselves.
