## Synopsis

My Instant Death Ability Is Overpowered (2024) is a Japanese anime isekai comedy series produced for TOKYO MX and BS11, adapted from a light novel. Yogiri Takatou (voiced by Koki Uchiyama) is a student who dozes through a class and wakes to find himself and his classmates transported to a fantasy world. Teaming up with Tomochika Dannoura (Miyu Tomita), he must fend off danger using his Instant Death ability, which is so strong that his opponents barely register as threats. The engine of each episode is the gap between the danger the group faces and the effortless ease with which Yogiri dispatches it, while his sleepiness keeps the stakes lightly absurd. Across a single twelve-episode season the show moves in brisk, self-contained adventures punctuated by running gags, parody of fantasy conventions and a steady stream of quick-witted banter. The tone is deadpan and breezy, with an irreverent affection for the genre's familiar tropes of summoning, reincarnation and overpowered heroes. Fans of KonoSuba and The Rising of the Shield Hero will find a similar appetite for genre parody and comic invincibility, and viewers who enjoy light isekai adventure will settle in easily.
