## Synopsis

Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (2025) is a Japanese anime fantasy series produced by Studio A-CAT and aired on TOKYO MX, a single-season run of twelve 24-minute episodes. Its protagonist Arel (voiced by Kensho Ono) is born to a famous Sword Princess and an Archmage, yet the goddess who hands every person a class and skills gives him none. Reiner (Saori Hayami), Lilia (Sumire Uesaka) and Kufa (Rumi Okubo) are his principal companions in a world where destiny is written by divine assignment. The engine is simple and concrete: Arel trains with blade and spell, pushes past rivals who dismiss him, and proves that dedication can stand in for a predetermined class. Each episode is built around martial arts duels, practice sessions and small confrontations over who deserves respect. The show sits within the sword and sorcery tradition of Japanese light novel adaptations, with a brisk comedic lightness and an underdog warmth. Its tone is cheerful and earnest, with action set pieces and affectionate childhood-friend dynamics. Fans of The Rising of the Shield Hero and Re:Zero will find familiar pleasures in its tale of an outsider hero rewriting a rigid fantasy order.
