## Synopsis

Langt fra Las Vegas (2001-2003) is a Danish sitcom created by Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam for TV 2 Zulu. Casper Christensen plays a fictionalized version of himself, a presenter at Jump Start, a newly launched Danish morning television show, while Frank Hvam plays his friend Kenny Nickelman, a fellow aspirant whose schemes keep unraveling. Iben Hjejle plays Liva Eberhart, a colleague whose patience with the pair is repeatedly tested. Lars Hjortshøj and Sofie Stougaard round out the principal cast as members of the struggling production team. The engine of the show is simple and relentless: the men want success and respect on live television, and their own vanity and poor judgment sabotage them episode after episode. Each 25-minute episode is built around a fresh humiliation, a botched segment, or an ill-judged scheme, and the five seasons form one continuing run of the same broken team. Set in contemporary Denmark, the series is a Danish sitcom with a deliberately uncomfortable, cringe-driven register, sharp and self-conscious in tone. Fans of The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm and W1A will find resonance in its awkward workplace comedy, its mockumentary-adjacent restraint and its affection for flawed, self-deceiving characters.
