## Synopsis

End of Summer (2024-2025) is a Swedish psychological mystery limited series created by Björn Carlström and Stefan Thunberg and broadcast on SkyShowtime. Its single six-episode season moves between a summer in 1984 and the present day. Vera Nilsson (Julia Ragnarsson) leads a group therapy session in Stockholm when a young man describes a strangely familiar childhood memory of a disappearance, and the memory unsettles her own past. She travels back to her fractured rural southern Swedish family to uncover what really happened to her five-year-old brother, who vanished one summer evening and whose case the police never solved. Vera works through rumors, suspicion and a grieving household where every relative carries a different version of events. Each episode peels back another layer of guilt and silence, building a slow, brooding atmosphere of dread and grief. Set against the quiet, sun-bleached countryside of Sweden, the series is a patient nordic noir that prizes emotional weight over shock. Fans of The Killing, Hinterland and The Missing will find resonance in its melancholic tone and its focus on a family unable to let a disappearance go.
