## Synopsis

El Manantial (2001-2002) is a Mexican telenovela created by Víctor Manuel Medina and Cuauhtémoc Blanco for Las Estrellas. Adela Noriega plays Alfonsina Valdés, a young woman who returns to the village of San Andres to avenge her mother and finds herself drawn to Alejandro Ramírez, played by Mauricio Islas, the heir of the family she despises. Daniela Romo plays Margarita Insunza, Alejandro's determined mother, who schemes to keep the two apart, while Alejandro Tommasi plays Don Justo Ramírez, whose hidden affair with a neighbor's wife set the feud in motion. The engine of the series is a love that refuses to die beneath a bitter inheritance of betrayal, with each episode built from confrontations, secret meetings, and manipulative family plots. Set in a rural Mexican hacienda community where a spring of water divides two landowning clans, the story unfolds across a single run of ninety-five episodes. Its tone is melodramatic and emotionally heightened, with suffering, loyalty, and class pride driving every turn. Viewers who enjoy the romance of Rubí, the intrigue of La Usurpadora, and the rivalries of Maria la del Barrio will find the same heartfelt, sweeping register here, a classic Latin American soap opera built for long evenings of devoted viewing.
