## Synopsis

The Fantastic Four (1967-1968) is an American animated superhero series created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee for ABC. Adapting Marvel's comic book team, it follows Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, The Thing and The Human Torch, voiced by Gerald Mohr, Jo Ann Pflug, Paul Frees and Jack DeLeon, as the explorers who gained their powers from a cosmic mishap work together as a family unit. Each of the twenty brisk, twenty-one-minute episodes is a self-contained adventure in which the team confronts a villain threatening the world, using teamwork and inventive gadgetry rather than heavy violence. The single season is a product of early Saturday morning network animation, with bright, cheerful colors and a light, earnest tone that makes it a gentle entry point for young viewers. Its episodic format and comic book roots make it a natural fit for fans of Super Friends and the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon, and for anyone seeking a nostalgic kids superhero cartoon from the dawn of Marvel on television. The series was canceled after one season and ends on an unresolved note.
