## Synopsis

House of David (2025-present) is a United States faith-based historical drama series created by Jon Erwin for Prime Video, produced with Wonder Project. Michael Iskander plays David, an overlooked young shepherd who is anointed by the prophet Samuel as the future king of Israel, while Ali Suliman plays the once-mighty King Saul, whose pride leads him into a steady decline. Ayelet Zurer appears as Queen Ahinoam, and Oded Fehr as Abner, a commander in the court. The engine of the story is David's struggle to accept a destiny he never sought, set against Saul's jealousy, political maneuvering and the threats of rival kingdoms. Episodes unfold as a continuing serialized account of court intrigue, battles and personal loyalties across two seasons of eight episodes each. The show is set in ancient Israel, a landscape of desert towns, palace halls and open battlefields. Its tone is earnest, reverent and sweeping, with an emphasis on faith, humility and the cost of ambition. Viewers who enjoy The Bible, The Prince of Egypt and The Last Kingdom will find a similar blend of scripture, spectacle and royal power struggle.
