## Synopsis

Unmasked (2025) is a South Korean crime mystery drama series created by Yoo Sun-dong for Disney+. Set in present-day Seoul, it follows a crack team of investigative journalists whose careers hang by a thread after a controversial broadcast. Their protagonist, Kang Ki-ho (Joo Jong-hyuk), leads colleagues including Oh So-ryong (Kim Hye-soo), Han-do (Jung Sung-il) and Park Dae-yong (Lee Hae-young) through an impossible assignment: to solve a twenty-year-old cold case involving a famous actor who disappeared without a trace. The engine is pressure, with reporters chasing old witnesses, stale records and institutional resistance against a clock that keeps ticking. The single season of twelve hour-long episodes moves as one continuing investigation rather than a case of the week, building layered reveals about the past while tracking the newsroom's fragile survival. Its tone is tense and grounded, with a sober, procedural rhythm that favors interviews, documents and moral compromise over spectacle. Viewers who enjoy Spotlight, the investigative grit of The Wire, and the Korean crime thriller sensibility of Signal will find resonance in its blend of journalism and mystery.
