## Synopsis

Such Brave Girls (2023-2025) is a British comedy series created by Kat Sadler for BBC Three, running two seasons of six episodes each. Sadler also stars as Josie, one of two sisters whose lives are a string of poor judgement, and Lizzie Davidson plays her sister Billie, with Louise Brealey as their single mother Deb. The engine is simple and painful: the women are heavily in debt and desperately hungry for approval from men and acquaintances who treat them badly, so each episode builds a fresh scheme or romantic gamble that backfires in public. Episodes run about twenty-four minutes and are built around these escalating mistakes rather than a single case or mystery. The tone is sharp, cringe-heavy and bruisingly funny, with a raw warmth underneath the vanity and selfishness. Its look is grounded in ordinary contemporary Britain, and its register sits beside the abrasive family comedy of Absolutely Fabulous and the confessional wit of Fleabag, with the bleak self-deception of Peep Show also in the frame. Fans of Catastrophe and dark British sitcoms will find the same mix of humiliation and tenderness.
