## Synopsis

Hellsing (2001-2002) is a Japanese anime horror series produced by GONZO and broadcast on Fuji TV. Set in present-day London, it follows Integra Hellsing (Yoshiko Sakakibara), who leads a government-sponsored secret organization tasked with hiding the existence of vampires from the public. Her most formidable weapon is Alucard (Jouji Nakata), a vampire who serves the organization as a violent, sardonic anti hero. Fumiko Orikasa voices Seras, a young recruit who is drawn into the unit's dark work, and Motomu Kiyokawa plays Walter, the loyal servant who keeps the household running. Across thirteen episodes, the engine of the series is a steady stream of rising vampire activity, with each episode delivering a confrontation with a new undead threat and the organization's struggle to contain it. The tone is gory, stylish, and bombastic, with gunfights and grotesque transformations foregrounded. Its atmosphere blends gothic horror with pulpy military action, with religious imagery woven throughout. Fans of Castlevania and Blood+ will find resonance in its dark vampire mythology and its relish for violent set pieces. The single season is a self-contained, tightly paced arc that builds toward an extended, unforgiving climax.
