## Synopsis

True Beauty (2024- present) is a South Korean animated romantic comedy series adapted from a webtoon and produced by Studio N, Cocktail Media, Grida Animation Studio and Naver Webtoon. Once bullied for her looks, high schooler Jugyeong (voiced by Jung Hye-won) reinvents herself through the art of makeup after transferring to a new school. Her engine is simple and anxious: she wants to stay among the top candidates in a school beauty goddess competition that promises recruitment by entertainment agencies, while her carefully built image is always one accident away from exposure. The threat comes in the form of heartthrob Suho Lee (voiced by Seo Ban-seok), who accidentally sees her bare face. Each episode of this thirteen-episode season is built around makeup routines, school rivalries, and the escalating tension of keeping a secret while forming real feelings. The tone is glossy, breezy and comic, with a sincere undercurrent about insecurity and beauty standards. Set in a contemporary Korean high school, it is an animated romcom with a strong appearance-focused core. Fans of Extraordinary You and Ugly Betty will find resonance in its blend of school romance, self-image anxiety and transformation.
