## Synopsis

Conflict (2024) is a Finnish national-television war thriller miniseries created by Andrei Alén for MTV Katsomo. Across six episodes, a small seaside town preparing to celebrate midsummer's eve is suddenly seized by an unknown enemy who takes the entire area hostage. Linnea Saaristo and Kapt. Rami Ohrankämmen anchor the story, with Kai Laavakuru and Annika Berg among the principal figures drawn into the standoff. The engine is survival and the search for who is behind the occupation, told through tense shifts between hostages, soldiers and officials. It is a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, built around the geopolitical stakes of a hybrid war. The tone is tense, grim and claustrophobic, with the calm of a summer holiday cut against the threat of armed occupation. Fans of Occupied, Bodyguard and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan will find resonance in its national-crisis pressure and ordinary people caught in an extraordinary siege.
